Alternatives to V5 and K8 Anti-Theft Dogs: When You Need Different Coverage

When the V5 or K8 anti-theft dog is not the right fit, operators have alternative options. This guide covers situations where different coverage is needed and what alternatives exist.

Situation 1: Machines Are Too Far Apart

If your top ball machines are spread across a large floor with more than 8 meters between them, the V5 will not cover all machines. In this case, use multiple K8 devices, one per machine. Each machine gets dedicated protection.

Situation 2: Need Visible Deterrent

If you want potential cheaters to see that protection is installed, the V5 is visible when mounted outside the cabinet. If you prefer hidden protection, the K8 fits inside the cabinet. For maximum deterrent effect, use a visible V5.

Situation 3: Mixed Machine Types

If your venue has both top ball machines and fish tables, a mixed approach works best. Use V5 or K8 for top ball machines (data pathway protection) and Gen2 for fish tables (signal-level protection).

Situation 4: Budget Constraints

If budget is a concern, start with one K8 on your highest-revenue top ball machine. Measure the results for 30 days. If improvement is measurable, expand coverage. This phased approach keeps initial investment low.

If your top ball machine is showing signs of V5 and K8 alternatives, send me a message with your machine model and a photo of your setup. I will do a quick remote check for free. Every device comes with a money-back guarantee, official invoice, express shipping, and 1-on-1 technical support.
