Fish Hunter Machine Inspection Checklist: Detecting Cheat Devices

Fish hunter machines require regular inspection to detect cheat devices that may have been installed during operation. This checklist covers what to look for during routine inspections.

Cable Inspection

1. Inspect the coin mech cable from the mech to the motherboard. Look for clip-on devices, unusual tape, or signs of disconnection.

2. Check ribbon cables for extra wires, tap devices, or signs of being unseated and reconnected.

3. Inspect power cables for any inline devices that were not part of the original installation.

4. Check USB and diagnostic ports for inserted devices or signs of tampering.

5. Verify that all cable ties are original factory ties. Added ties may indicate someone accessed the cables.

Component Inspection

6. Open the cabinet and inspect the motherboard for added components, wires, or modifications.

7. Check the coin mech itself for tools or devices inserted into the coin path or sensor area.

8. Inspect the ticket dispenser or payout controller for inline tap devices on the communication cable.

9. Look inside the cabinet for objects that do not belong: small circuit boards, battery packs, or wrapped items.

10. Check all accessible areas for hidden recording devices that could capture payout data.
