Arcade Pre-Launch Anti-Cheat Checklist: 12 Steps Before Opening Your Doors

Before you open your doors for the first time, complete this 12-step anti-cheat checklist. It is easier to install protection before your machines go live than to fix problems after they start.

Before Installation

1. Research common cheating methods for your specific machine types. Each machine type has different vulnerabilities, and your protection plan should address them.

2. Calculate how many anti-cheat devices you need based on your floor layout. A single Gen2 covers 2-3 machines in a typical layout. Measure your spacing and plan accordingly.

3. Order your devices with enough lead time to receive and install them before opening day. Do not open unprotected.

4. Check with your machine manufacturer about warranty implications. Most plug-and-play devices do not affect warranties, but it is worth confirming.

Installation

5. Install anti-cheat devices on all machines before the opening day. Do not wait to see if cheating happens. It will.

6. Verify that each device is active and showing a green status light after installation. Do not assume installation was successful without verification.

7. Position devices to maximize coverage. For Gen2 devices, place them centrally within the machine cluster to cover the full 2.5-3 meter radius.

8. Document the installation: which devices are on which machines, installation date, and device serial numbers.

Pre-Opening Verification

9. Run a baseline test: record the payout log for each machine before any gameplay. This gives you a clean starting point for future comparisons.

10. Train all staff members on the cheating indicators relevant to your machine types. Hold a training session before opening day.

11. Set up your cash reconciliation process to track each machine individually, not just venue totals. Individual tracking catches machine-specific cheating.

12. Establish a schedule for weekly device log reviews and monthly cash-to-payout comparisons. Make these recurring calendar events.
